Annual Focus

You can apply for any type of project as long as it fits with our Local Development Strategy however, the LAG will choose a focus each year in order to enhance development of projects around a particular theme.

In 2017 the West Lothian LAG has chosen to focus on local heritage projects to coincide with Visit Scotland's year of History, Heritage and Archaeology.  For further information please use link below.

VisitScotland - 2017 Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology

So far we have funded Almond Valley Heritage Centre to build a new attraction to engage children with West Lothian's mining heritage. The New Oil Shale Discovery Space will open in 2018. Linlithgow Union Canal Society were also given a grant towards a new canal boat to enable them to continue the great work they do engaging the public with the history of the Union canal and its surrounding environment. We also have a number of other heritage related projects under development but we are still keen to hear from community led heritage projects or about ideas around next year's theme which will be Young People. Please get in touch if you have a project or even just an idea you wish to discuss with us.
